Application for participating in a masterclass

Viola students can apply for masterclasses during the XXXI. International Viola Congress 2003 in Kronberg im Taunus, Germany. However, only limited time slots are available for playing and advice. All students applying will be offered free accomodation - as long as capacities allow - in Kroberg families (see below).

Every day during the congress a renowned Viola teacher will offer a masterclass. 2-3 students will be allocated to 40 min each:

Prof. Tabea Zimmermann (Berlin), Prof. Hartmut Rohde (Berlin), Prof. Matthias Buchholz (Cologne) und Prof. Johannes Lüthy (Karlsruhe).

Masterclasses are open to the public and can be visited by participants interested.

Masterclasses are offered to viola students from Germany and abroad on condition that:

  1. the application form has to be    returned by May 1, 2003 (deadline)
  2. the student registers for the congress (students package EURO 50,00), there is NO surcharge for the masterclass

If applications exceed the time slots available, the chairman of the German Viola Society together with the viola teachers will decide. The applying student will be notified Mai 15, 2003. Criteria for the dicision making process may be first-in-first-out of applications, varied works proposed by the students, and probably drawing lots. The decisions made  are not contestable.

Viola students, who applied for participation in a masterclass and who registered as delegates of the congress will be offered free accomodation in private homes organized by Kronberg Academy.
