For many years the International Viola congresses have showcased the finest in the world of viola playing, teaching, and research. The best violists in the world have played at these events, the importance of which has never been greater. For this reason you might consider exhibiting your work or products at the Congress. You may also wish to place an advertisement in our anniversary program booklet.
If you are interested in exhibiting your work or products or in advertising in the program booklet please send your questions or intentions to the Viola Congress Business Manager, Ann Frederking.
Exhibits of Instruments or Bows by Luthiers
Advertisements in the Program Book
Tables are available for commercial exhibits. The cost of these tables for the entire Congress is:
Cdn $ 400 per 7 ft table or
Cdn $ 200 per 3.5 ft table
For commercial exhibits, additional registration fees are not required for up to one person for a 3.5 ft table and two people for a 7 ft table. When not at the exhibit, you will be able to participate in the Congress including attending the evening concerts.
Table drapes are not provided.
Subject to availability, you may stay in university dormitories.
Contact the Congress business manager for further details and please submit the application form at the end of this page. If you are unable to attend the entire Congress, please contact the business manager in regard to partial Congress rates.
Luthiers Exhibits (two options):
1) If you would like to exhibit a contemporary viola, the following procedures apply: Please pay the registration fees for the Congress, which will allow you to exhibit one instrument and one bow free of charge. (The registration form is available through this site.). Any extra instruments will be charged an additional Cdn$75 and bows Cdn$40. All cheques may be made payable to International Viola Congress.
Subject to availability, you may stay in university dormitories.
2) If you do not plan to be in attendance, the registration fees are waived and charges are Cdn$75 per instrument and Cdn$40 per bow. This exhibit is open to all makers or their designated proxies.
Note: We will have a performance exhibition by one of our prominent soloists of one instrument by every maker or their proxy in attendance. While there is no limit to how many instruments may be exhibited, only one instrument can be accommodated in the performance exhibition.

Sponsors and donors are needed to help defray the high travel expenses for several of the concerts. Sponsorships are available at several levels.
