This competition will take place for the first time in Austria. It is based on an important tradition of the strings and exceeds the general talents' advancement and will be held annually within an advancing project of the Austrian Performers' Society.
The three finalists who will give the final concert with the Symphony-Orchestra of Wiener Voksoper, conducted by Alfred Eschwé, will receive prices of ATS 80.000, 45.000, and 25.000.
To advance their career and corresponding to their supreme artistic quality there will be arranged employments at concerts afterwards.
The invitation to participate in the International Viola Competition results from the qualification (curriculum vitae, studies, references, records) you will find in the registration form.
Final registration will be June 30, 1998.
